The Colour Of Paradise:

  • Director & Writer----------Majid Majidi
  • Release Date----------7 September 2000
  • Awards----------10 Win 8 Nominations
  • Runtime----------90 Minutes

In this movie the main character is a blind 8 year old boy named Mohammad (Mohsen Ramezani) his acting is totally brilliant and natural. I watched it a many of time and enjoyed. It is about faith and belief, unconditional love, hardship and hope. I would suggest that you watch this lovely movie. It is wonderful.

Memorable quotes...

Mohammad: [crying] Our teacher says that God loves the blind more because they can't see. But I told him if it was so, He would not make us blind so that we can't see Him. He answered "God is not visible. He is everywhere. You can feel Him. You see Him through your fingertips." / Now I reach out everywhere for God till the day my hands touch Him and tell Him everything, even all the secrets in my heart.
Another wonderful movie… In this movie, lead characters are eight year old Ali and his younger sister Zahra. Both children are terrific actors. The direction is excellent. It is very touching educational movie. I really love it. This is one of my favorite movies. You can say, It is great and "must see" type of movie. Watch it and enjoy!

There are books so alive that you're always afraid that while you weren't reading, the book has gone and changed, has shifted like a river; while you went on living, it went on living too, and like a river moved on and moved away. No one has stepped twice into the same river. But did anyone ever step twice into the same book? ~Marina Tsvetaeva

Here are some write up which have written at different occasions. Mostly are in Persian language. I have tried to translate them in to English but I’m not sure about accuracy...anyways a humble request to my entire readers feel free to aware me from my mistakes. I think its so interesting and easy job to tell mistakes to others. What is difficult...? To tell others, how can we accurate our mistakes? I think so, what do you think?

It was charming evening of 2005. We had a get-together party and decided that every member will tell something like poetry, jock and so on. I wrote a poem, it is in Persian language and have translated this from Persian in to English. Today share with you…enjoy! The theme of the poem was "silence".

"Silence”

It was Sunday night...
All were sleeping…but
I was waking up in my room… alone
Was so sad
I saw towards the table
All things on the table like…
Books, fountain pen, writing papers
And then...
Wall clock and flower vase was too sad…
Two lizards on the wall in front of one another…
Were delivering their silence message
Spider sitting in her net was thinking about me
I felt all my night friends are so sad…but
Tonight wanted to tell something…
In photo frame photo was also silent…
That night things were flamed in my room
One was candle and…other one
My poor heart…

Enjoy when you can, and endure when you must. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Donkey's Word

One day a neighbor called on Molla.
"Molla, I want to borrow your donkey."
"I'm sorry," Molla said, "but I've already lent it out.
"As soon as he had spoken, the sound of a donkey braying came from Molla's stable.
"But Molla, I can hear your donkey in there."
"Shame on you," Molla said indignantly, "that you would take the word of a donkey over my word."

Man's Best Qualities

One day someone asked Molla, "What are the best qualities of mankind?"
"Well," he replied, "a philosopher once told me that there are two. He had forgotten the one, but he told me the other. But to tell you the truth, I've since forgotten that one, too."

Reliable Source

"How old are you, Molla?”
"Forty."
"But you said that two years ago when I asked."
"That's right. I always stand by my word!"
